This dataset was created by surveying the 23
Weed & Pest Supervisors and Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
They were requested to enter how many estimated
Gross Acres of each weed.
Purpose:
To create a visual representation of the
estimated gross acres of the chosen weeds.

In 1995 all counties responded, except Natrona,
Sheridan, Sweetwater, and Weston.
In the 1997 survey the following counties did not
respond: Albany, Carbon, Johnson, Laramie, and Niobrara.
The following weeds were chosen:
Canada Thistle, Burdock, Dalmatian Toadflax,Diffuse Knapweed, Spotted Knapweed, Russian
Knapweed,
Purple Loosestrife, Leafy Spurge, Houndstongue, Musk Thistle, Whitetop, Perennial
Pepperweed, Yellow Toadflax
Scotch Thistle, Dyer's Woad, Quackgrass, Oxeye Daisy, St. Johnswort, Tansy Ragwort,
Saltcedar,
Common Tansy, Yellow Hawkweed, Orange Hawkweed, Field Bindweed, and Rush Skeletonweed.
